The Manager, Marketing Events & Services, serves as a senior role within the Marketing Events Team providing Management and Leadership for assigned events, which includes client entertainment events, conferences, internal meetings, tradeshows, corporate charitable events, and employee appreciation events on both a repeating annual and one-off basis. Accountabilities include planning, budgeting, vendor management, project management, and execution of the event through both personal efforts and management of employees and other resources.

 

This position will report to the Director, Marketing Events, and will be a part of the Marketing Department.

 

Note that this job will require travel as determined by the needs of the position. This could easily exceed 20 multi-day trips per year including some weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, development, and execution of assigned events
  • Assist in creating structure and content of events and meetings, along with administration of activities and entertainment
  • Provide consultation for events being planned and executed by the other departments and offices within the company
  • Travel as needed to execute events
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process
  • Oversee event finances and budgets while ensuring cost-effectiveness
  • Work with Management to define and refine event strategies, techniques, resources, and processes
  • This position will be assigned to a leadership role over larger, higher-profile events or groups of similar events to provide a broad and consistent brand application across multiple events or repetitive events. These assignments may change over time depending on company needs.
  • As a senior member of the Events Team, provide consultation, mentorship, and coaching to junior members of the Events Team and assist with their development.
  • Act as a representative of the Marketing Team in meetings with other departments, sharing information and needs in a timely and detailed basis with other members of the Marketing Team.
  •  Act as a project manager for assigned areas, ensuring that other resources are fully informed on a timely basis and that other teams have the direction, time and resources to meet time and quality standards for their deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising, Communications, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years events experience with a variety of corporate events involving external partners or clients.
  • Proven experience in leading the planning and execution of events involving more than 70 people that required multiple days, air travel, and multiple venues.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in developing content agendas for corporate trainings and meetings.
  • Ability to travel as needed, total time based on needs, but this could exceed 20 multi-day trips per year including some weekends.
